President Yoon Suk-yeol, who is in Jakarta, Indonesia to attend the ASEAN Summit, held a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sept. 6.
 

During the meeting, the President exchanged views on ways to develop bilateral relations and requested Vietnam's support for the 2030 Busan World Expo.

The President emphasized that Vietnam is a key partner in the implementation of the Indo-Pacific strategy, and said he looks forward to continuing to work together to realize freedom, peace, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.

The President called for steady implementation of the measures to develop the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership agreed between the two sides during his state visit to Vietnam in June this year. 

The President also emphasized the importance of creating a business-friendly environment for expanding bilateral trade, and requested Vietnam's attention and support for the smooth operation of Korean enterprises in Vietnam. 

Prime Minister Chinh replied that he will continue to communicate with and support Korean enterprises, the largest investor in Vietnam, to ensure their smooth operation.

The two sides agreed that the two countries, which are in the best of relations, should expand their strategic and forward-looking cooperation, and work closely together to ensure that ongoing cooperation in areas such as the supply chain of key minerals and defense leads to concrete results.
