In the midst of a trend and environment filled with flashy techniques and various arguments, Yoon Tae-yu's artwork stands out with its sincerity and truthfulness, as he quietly protects himself and reflects on life while cultivating his brushwork. Through his works, which embody the principle of "understanding the essence inherent in objects or phenom­ena and achieving knowledge" (格物致知), he visualizes the observations and feelings of visible phenomena, as well as the inherent essence within the world of phenomena. With his warm gaze, the artist at­tempts to reinterpret Korean ink painting, exploring mod­ern works based on tradition. Through conceptual brush­work, viewers can discover new horizons.

The artist's own pursuit of a true sense of ink painting is ev­ident in his wide range of sub­jects and genres, as well as his unwavering and robust realistic artistic language. Through his sincere artistic world, the artist showcases his unique mastery, ultimately resulting in an ev­er-evolving sense of openness and aesthetic sensibility. This has propelled the artist to delve into a sublime world of beauty, driven by his constantly evolv­ing consciousness of art and aesthetic perception.

 

 

Yun’s works have undergone gradual and steady changes, leading to his current vibrant and spontaneous nature. Through a continuous process of experimentation with various materials such as paint, his has moved from a conceptual traditional approach to a strong sense of experimentation and modern spatial composition. This has led to the creation of a distinctive artistic style and visual language in his works today. One can observe this series of artistic developments particularly through the Yun’s concentrated efforts in his re­cent works, characterized by a unique synthesis of nature and abstraction.
