The New Zealand Wine Festival was held successfully for only three years. The wine festival ended successfully with the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul on the 11th under the theme of "Reconnecting with New Zealand Wine." Philip Turner, the ambassador to New Zealand, said, "We are happy that The Kiwi Chamber will be able to resume the wine festival after a long hiatus," adding, "New Zealand wine sales have soared more than 130% over the past two years due to increased pandemic and home consumption.
Tony Garrett, chairman of the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea, welcomed the event, which resumed in three years, saying, "This year will be a wonderful year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Korea-New Zealand diplomatic relations."
New Zealand is Korea's largest wine exporter, with exports to Korea reaching US$15 million in 2021. Korea's total wine imports have more than doubled in the past three years and reached a record high in 2021. Both white and red wine from New Zealand are steadily gaining popularity in the Korean market.
Meanwhile, Jang Hyun-woo, coordinator of the Australian New Zealand Association, attended the event as a Wine Volunteer and explained New Zealand's wine and region to the participants.
