문화재 동국대 박물관, ‘東國에 오신 부처님’ 특별전 개최

외교저널 (Diplomacy Journal) 김지은 기자 | 동국대학교 박물관(관장 임영애)은 개관 60주년을 기념해 특별전〈東國에 오신 부처님〉을 개최했다. 이번 특별전에서는 1963년 개관 이후 수집한 소장품 가운데 50여 점을 엄선해 한자리에 모았다. 이날 개막식에는 윤재웅 동국대 총장의 인사말을 시작으로 동국대 이사장 돈관스님의 치사와 최응천 문화재청장의 축사, 그리고 임영애 동국대 박물관장의 환영사 순으로 진행됐다. 〈東國에 오신 부처님〉은 네 부분으로 구성돼 있다. 도입부 ‘박물관, 60년 역사를 시작하다’에서는 60년간 동국대 박물관의 발자취와 초대관장 故 황수영 박사의 조사자료를 살펴볼 수 있다. 1부 ‘재료, 구별해서 이뤄내다’에서는 돌, 나무, 흙, 금속 등 재료에 따라 불교 존상의 모습이 어떻게 표현되는지 알아볼 수 있다. 2부 ‘불교존상, 다채롭게 담아내다’라는 불상, 보살상, 나한상, 신장상 등 다양하게 전개되는 불교의 존상을 조각과 불화 작품을 통해 선보인다. 3부 ‘불복장, 신성한 생명력을 불어넣는다’라는 불상의 복장(腹藏)을 살펴 불상 제작자들이 불상에 신성성과 생명력을 부여하기 위해 어떤 노력을 했는지 엿볼 수 있다. 특히 이번
