외교저널 (Diplomacy Journal) 김지은 기자 | 개관 60주년을 맞이한 동국대학교 박물관은 10월 10일 14시 동국대학교 박물관에서 개관 60주년 기념식을 진행한 뒤, 다음날부터 12월 26일까지 박물관 2층 특별전시실에서 ‘동국에 오신 부처님’이라는 제목의 특별전시를 선보일 예정이다. 동국대학교 박물관은 1963년 9월 1일에 설립된 불교종합박물관으로 대학의 건학이념에 따라 불교 관련 고고 및 미술자료 를 수집·보관·전시한다. 박물관은 개관 이래 불교미술을 조사·발굴·연구하고 이를 학계에 알림과 동시에 학생들에게 교육하고 있으며, 소장유물은 불교 관계의 조각·회화·공예·건축·금석문 등으로 그 수량은 총 2,252점 (등록유물 1,735점, 기탁유물 517점)에 이른다. 국보 2점, 보물 8점, 서울시 유형문화재 2점을 비롯한 지정문화재도 다량 보유하고 있다. 이번 개관60주년 기념 전시는 역대 박물관장들이 정성을 다해 수집하고 연구한 성보 가운데 50여 점을 엄선해 선보일 예정이다. 전시는 ▲프롤로그: 동국대학교박물관, 60년 역사를 시작하다 ▲1부: 재료, 구별해서 이뤄내다(재료에 따른 불교 존상의 모습) ▲2부: 불교 존상, 숭고함을 담아
