영문 국민 한명한명이 공공외교관! 제1회 대국민국 공공외교 우수사례 공모전
외교저널 (Diplomacy Journal) 이정하 기자 | 외교부는 우리의 정책, 지식, 문화 등을 통해 외국 국민의 이해와 신뢰를 증진시키는 공공외교 활동을 전개하고 있으며, 우리 국민들의 공공외교 활동 참여를 확대하기 위한 다양한 노력을 지속하고 있다. 이러한 노력의 일환으로, 올해 「제1회 대국민 공공외교 우수사례 공모전」을 개최했다. 이번 공모전의 주제는 ‘공공외교 활동을 통해 해외에서 대한민국에 대한 이해와 신뢰를 증진시킨 경험’ 이었으며, 이에 대해 우리 국민과 재외동포들이 70여개국에서 수행한 418건의 공공외교 활동이 수기와 영상 형태로 응모됐다. 국가별 접수 순위는 한국이 191건으로 가장 많았으며 중국(25건), 미국(19건), 베트남(18건), 브라질(9건) 등이었다. 접수된 응모작들에 대해 한달여 간의 심사를 진행한 결과, 대상 1개(상금 300만원), 우수상 3개(상금 각 150만원), 장려상 9개(상금 각 50만원) 등 13개의 수상작이 선정되었다. 12월 11일(월) 외교부에서 개최된 시상식에 참석한 수상자들은 묵묵히 해왔던 일들이 이렇게 우수사례로 선정되어 그간의 노력을 인정받은 것 같아 기쁘다는 소감을 말하며 눈물을 보이기도
